How the World's Strongest Man eats

A lot, mostly.

Brian Shaw is the back-to-back winner of the World's Strongest Man competition. He is capable of lifting extremely heavy weights, including a 905 pound squat and 1,140 pound deadlift. If you are ever trapped under a small vehicle hope that Mr. Shaw is around to help.

To maintain his imposing figure Shaw has to eat a lot of food, more food than anyone else should eat in a given day. Shaw goes through 12,000 calories a day (on purpose) over the course of six meals. The amount of time he has to spend just making and consuming food sounds exhausting. My favorite part of the video is when he is sitting down to his fourth meal of the day, and looking at a takeout menu for meal number five.

Before anyone goes out and tries this kind of extreme diet, please note that Shaw is a professional athlete who has a nutritionist on call to make sure that he is not actively killing himself by eating so much food. Please don't try this at home.

It's fun to see the limits of the human experience, and Brian seems like a nice guy who just happens to be the closet thing to The Hulk that we have on this planet. I wish him all the luck in the world in his future endeavors.

Bon Appetit.
