Queens of the Stone Age tease new album Villians

Today the Queens of the Stone Age released a hilarious video on their youtube page announcing their new album, Villains. The video has the bands front man, Josh Homme, hooked up to a lie detector, answering questions about the existence of the album - among other things. The video also teases a bit of one of the new songs from the album, "Feet Don't Fail Me"

It's been four years since Queens of the Stone Age released their last album. In the mean time Homme scored a major motion picture, and made albums with Iggy Pop and Eagles of Death Metal. If Dave Grohl is the busiest man in rock and roll, Josh Homme would be a close second.

The album is being produced by Marc Ronson, who you may know for his work with acts like: Adele, Amy Winehouse, Paul McCartney and Bruno Mars - to name a few. I was over the moon when I heard that Queens were going to be working with Mr. Ronson. A couple of years back Mark got a group of musicians together to cover "I Saw By The Ocean," and it was glorious.

The last Queens of the Stone Age album, Like Clockwork, is my favorite rock and roll album of the decade. Come to think of it, their album Songs for the Deaf may be my favorite rock album from the 2000's. You know what you are getting with this band: scuzzy toe tapping rifs, hooks that will burrow their way into the deep recesses of your brain, and enough swagger to put Mick Jagger to shame. Hopefully the wait for Villians is not a long one.
